Meet the Team

Dr. Steve Thompson

Through postgraduate educational courses and keeping apprised of new dental treatment techniques, Dr. Thompson continually expands the spectrum of services that he offers our patients. A graduate of the University of Memphis, Dr. Thompson studied dentistry at the University of Tennessee, where he earned his DDS degree. With more than 25 years of experience in dentistry, he takes pride in providing quality, state-of-the-art cosmetic and family dental services. Dr. Thompson moved his private practice from Memphis to Collierville in 1996 and holds membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).

The Thompsons make their home in Collierville. Dr. Thompson enjoys time with his four children and, like most parents, considers shopping with the kids a major “hobby.” He places priority on personal fitness and occasionally enjoys some fishing.

Amy White, Hygienist

Amy has been with Dr. Thompson’s practice for more than seven years. She has a bachelor of science in dental hygiene from the University of Tennessee. Amy values the small office atmosphere that allows her to build lasting relationships with her patients. She considers making a positive impact on a patient’s dental and overall health a significant benefit of her job. Amy and her husband, Russell live together in the heart of Collierville with their daughter, Logan, and a son, Peyton.

Tina Newman, Registered Dental Assistant

Tina works alongside Dr. Thompson to keep patients comfortable and assist in clinical procedures. She has been a dental assistant for 15 years and sincerely enjoys serving our patients. Before entering dentistry, Tina attended heavy equipment mechanic school in the US Marine Corp. There, she earned Marine of the Quarter for community service. She is a member of the Tennessee Board of Dental Assistants and enjoys furthering her knowledge and skills as a dental assistant.

Tina is married to Gary, and has been for 15 years. The couple has a daughter and a son, four dogs, three cats, and one fish, but no partridge in a pear tree. For fun, Tina likes reading, traveling, boating, and skiing. And of course, she treasures time with her family.

Emily Chappell, Office Assistant

Emily is a full time student, a junior at Collierville High School. She joined our team to help in the front office part time. Learning new things and working with family - Emily is Dr. Thompson’s daughter – are her favorite parts of coming to work. She plans to move to Memphis after graduation.
